Studio hygiene brought to your home.
Body piercing understandably requires exceptional standards of hygiene. This level of cleanliness is achieved through the use of an autoclave (a high tech pressure cooker used to
sterilise all equipment and jewellery) and a selection of surface disinfectants (for cleansing of skin and work surfaces). Body piercing is not
open heart surgery and conseqently does not require the levels of sterility you may find in
a surgical theatre. Therefore it is perfectly safe to perform piercings in a clean and tidy room as long as the practioner practises good surgical technique with a firm
understanding about the rules of cross-contamination.
I appreciate that receiving a piercing can be a very terrifying process for many people. For this reason I endeavour to do everything possible to create as much of a feeling of calm
for a clients as possible. Getting pierced in your own home certainly helps this state of mind but you may also consider choosing soothing music and good company to help you feel more at ease.
I operate with a strict age restriction rule - you must be over 18 to be pierced. Although, there is still no legislation dictating I cannot pierce people younger
than this age, I wish to work with people who will to have a better understanding of the seriousness of receiving a piercing and consequently the responsibility to care for the piercing
during it's healing. |
